| Sun City has seven recreation centers located through out
the area -- each has an Olympic sized swimming pool. There are eleven golf
courses located in Sun City. Eight of the courses are for the exclusive
use of residents and their guests -- five are championship courses --
three are executive length courses -- the remaining three courses are
owned by private country clubs. The residents and their guests also have
exclusive use of facilities for bowling, billiards, tennis, handball,
racquetball, shuffleboard, bocce, miniature golf, a fitness gym, running
track, softball, and horseshoes. Weekly activities at the Sundial
Auditorium include round, square and ballroom dancing. At the recreation
facilities there are arts and crafts rooms for almost every imaginable
pastime, including ceramics, photography, weaving, woodworking, computers,
stained glass, silver craft, and painting. All facilities are well
equipped and open to all residents. Non owner residents (renters) may also
use the facilities for a nominal fee.
Golf
The Sun Cities area is a golfers dream. Each of the Sun
Cities has several golf courses that rival most private country club
courses. To give you an idea of the quality of these courses – twenty
years ago the US Open was held on one of the courses in Sun City West.
In Sun City there are eleven golf courses – eight for
